    Initial Assessment

    Our physician and OT/PT team will evaluate and assess the client's overall medical and orthopedic function and their living environment. We look for fall hazards and other risks that may contribute to falls.

    Create an Individualized Safe Step Plan

    Our physician-directed team communicates with the client, family members, personal physicians and care coordinators about our detailed assessment and professional recommendations. The team functions as an advocate for the client’s wellbeing.

    Implementation & Coordination

    We will then coordinate the approved home improvements and/or programs that will improve the client's safety and reduce their fall risk. Improvements and installations can be completed by one of our trusted contractors or a contractor of your choosing.

    Continued Reassessments, Maintenance and Service upgrades

    With Safe Step Systems, you can receive continued service, which is invaluable to distant family members who want the assurance that their loved one's residence is properly maintained, with all the safety measures continuing to function and updated as needed. Ongoing service is individually priced.

Prices vary depending on travel time and complexity and may be approved prior to the service agreement.

How long does an assessment take?

Assessment time varies. Depending on travel and the size/complexity of the residence, up to 2 hours.

Are the services covered by insurance?

Not currently, but Medicare is considering coverage for qualified participants.

Will there be a post assessment meeting?

Yes, the Safe Step Systems team will schedule an in-person meeting or digital conference to discuss all aspects of our assessment and recommendations.

Can we use our own contractor to implement recommended renovations/improvements, or does Safe Step Systems have their own contractor?

We have affiliated construction service providers who can quote improvements, but you are welcome to hire any service provider of your choosing.

Do you offer reassessments as needed?

Yes, Safe Step Systems can offer monthly or quarterly reassessments to review key touch points, either in person or by digital conference.

Are recommended rehabilitation activities done in-home or at an outpatient facility?

Safe Step Systems has Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapists on staff who can provide these services or you can be seen by your own PT/OT as needed with recommendations from our staff.
